Sterling joined Aviation Week in May 2019 while studying International Affairs at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In his capacity as a defense research analyst, Sterling tracks military aircraft fleets in Sub-Saharan Africa and writes military aircraft profiles. Besides military aviation, his research interests include long-term U.S. defense procurement and policy and the security politics of the Asia-Pacific region.
